Hispanic Heritage Month Begins
Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated each year from September 15 to October 15. This month-long celebration recognizes the histories, cultures, and contributions of Americans whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.
The celebration begins on September 15, a date that marks the independence anniversaries of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. Mexico celebrates its independence on September 16, followed by Chile on September 18.
The month is an opportunity to recognize the profound influence Hispanic and Latino communities have had on the nation through art, music, food, literature, politics, science, and more. It’s a celebration of identity, heritage, and resilience.
