The Hartford Symphony Orchestra brings back Jazz and Strings to Parkville Market. HSO X Parkville: Charlie Parker with Strings is an intimate concert conceived by HSO’s principal timpanist Gene Bozzi, who will be playing on drumset, gets you up close and personal with HSO musicians and guest saxophonist John Mastroianni as they perform Charlie Parker’s iconic standards. Parker, a keen student of classical music, desired to create music that incorporated jazz and classical elements, breaking barriers between the two genres.
