Parkville Market is closed on Thanksgiving Day and

What started as a small grassroots movement over a decade ago, has grown into a very exciting and entertaining function that has incredible reach and tons of goodwill! Headliner: Kevin McGloin @kevinmcgloinn

Kevin McGloin is a NYC–based stand-up comedian who has been featured at the New York Comedy Festival and The VeryBigVeryAsian Comedy Festival and frequently tours the nation’s top comedy clubs with his show, Prohibition Comedy. Kevin being a mixed-race, native New Yorker, with the old soul of a 65-year old trapped in a 27-year olds body, he brings a unique perspective to what he talks about on stage.

Matt McCoy is is a standup comedian, writer, and actor based in New York CIty. He’s currently on tour opening for Akaash Singh, Danny LoPriore & others. Matt was a finalist in the Cleveland Comedy Festival and the Comedy Mob Festival in New York City. Matt has a crowd work special streaming on YouTube called ‘Nobody Asked For This’ and is the host of The New York City Minute.

Ayesheh Mae is a CT-based comic who is very crass and loves emo music. She currently produces the successful Filthy Comedy which she runs all on her own. She runs shows at breweries all across the state, and has also performed at COMIX at Mohegan Sun, the Grisley Pear, and Broadway Comedy Club in NYC, and recently performed in the Portland Comedy Festival.

Enjoy an afternoon of holiday cheer and decorating sugar cookies with Loren from StidYums!! Together we will practice basic royal icing piping and filling techniques and YOU will walk away with these 6 beautifully decorated cookies. Hot cocoa bar and a sweet treats will be provided during “cocoa hour”. Ugly Sweaters are encouraged however, not required.

Mae Planert is a writer and podcaster based in NYC. She is a regular in the NYC comedy club scene and has toured both domestic and internationally. Mae has been featured on Comedy Central digital, Sirius XM, the Tuesdays with Stories podcast, ‘Wife of the party’ podcast and is the co-host of the ‘Risque Business News’ podcast. Ben Kirschenbaum is a New York stand-up comedian and writer who currently lives ten blocks away from where he grew up. In his early twenties, he mustered up the courage to move to Chicago to pursue his dream of performing at Second City. Once he discovered that improv repels women, Ben moved back to his hometown. He’s written for MTV, Clickhole, and seriouslyTV. Ben performs all over New York and headlines across the country.

Checkmate in 5 is a five-part series of immersive chess tournaments, there are 2 tiers, featuring art installations, live experiences, and embodied’ strategy—pivoting across Connecticut and foreshadowing the unveiling of Ashley the Creator’s new body of work and exclusive product release.

The first tier is contestants who will be competing to win a trophy designed/sculpted by Artist Ashley the Creator.

The second tier is general, non-competitive but open to friendly games of chess whenever a chess set it open.
